Release- 13th February 2007 Technological Survival Skills Grant –Public Works
Department We received a grant from Public Works Department in the Technological Survival Skills Grant round 2006 and are busy getting two members through the TAA Cert IV Workplace Training and Assessing so they can assist Brigade members with basic computer skills and how to work through the maze of information now being presented on CD’s including Rthe Operations Doctrine. We will also be launching our own Group web site hosting all 9 brigades in our Group at the Rural Fire Expo-Youth Week, but don’t worry Garry we will not be tackling the discussion and news forum from Southeasters as that is already an established identity. Our site will promote the local Brigades and training and other local news. After receiving the grant for our own web site a local business has come forward with ongoing sponsorship for the web site, but we still we be connecting our 9 Brigades to email for 12 months and then looking for ongoing sponsorship to keep the connection alive to make it easier for transferring of messages from Group and Rural Operations.
