The Ipswich Group of Brigades were asked to put a Strike Team together mid afternoon on Sunday 2nd October initially for a fire in the Caboolture area. Within an hour the team had been assembled but the destination was changed to a fire in the Lockyer Valley. The following photos illustrate what the crews encountered on their trip to the Upper Tent Hill fire.

Crews from Mt Forbes, Pine Mountain and Ripley Valley RFB's headed west.

645M was on location as the incident control appliance.

Crews headed bush to find the fire.

The fire front was reached late afternoon.

The main tasks revolved around overhauling the incident.

There was plenty of heavy timber around.

Perfect for a cuppa.

Back to work and dealing with issues such as candles.

Some burning out of areas was required when conditions were favourable.

Area made safe; crews returned home late that night.
